IAN TERRY
Managing Director

Ian was appointed Managing Director at The Event Company in November 2011 and has more than twenty years of expertise as a senior executive working with leading corporations in the finance, media, events and hospitality sectors across Australia, South East Asia and Europe.

Ian's career has also included working with the Seven Television Network in Australia for more than 7 years holding several senior finance roles – including Group Treasurer and Corporate Strategist, Group Finance Operations Manager and Commercial Manager of TV Operations.

He has brought his strong commercial experience and his deep passion for events to the leadership of The Event Company.

Ian has a proven track record of success with the Australian based Staging Connections Group since 2007 and relocated his family from Australia to Singapore in 2010 to take the helm of The Event Company.

Ian graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from The University of Melbourne in Australia and is also a qualified Chartered Accountant and member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. He also is on the Starwood Asia Pacific MICE Advisory Board and is a founding board member of the International Special Events Society (ISES) Singapore Chapter.

QIFEN WANG
Executive Director, Account Servicing

Since her return from setting up an event company in both Shanghai and Beijing, China in 2012, Qifen’s colossal eight years events experience and expertise stretches over most major cities in Asia Pacific. Qifen is a walking ball of never-ending zany energy, she possesses Svengali project management and team building skills to perfectly manage and optimise every event, whilst possessing the natural flair for exceptional Client service and relationships. Always astute, candid, practical, proactive and solution orientated, Qifen ensures that her Clients receive her best professional advice at all times in the delivery of amazing events.

The engine room of The Event Company, Qifen heads up the Account Servicing and Event Management Department and provides strong leadership and expertise to 14 full time event specialists, who micromanage every aspect of the events they handle, to perfection. Joel joined The Event Company in 2013, with a proven 12 year track record in event sales, working with leading event MNC’s and ASEAN event companies. Joel’s vast event experience comprises just about every possible event category, business sector and country in South East Asia. A consummate sales professional, Joel enjoys building relationships into partnerships, doing deals, adding value and delivering a "wow factor" for Clients.

Joel's experience is as extensive as his passion for the event industry. Joel is driven by the desire to create unique, amazing event experiences which exceed Client expectations and deeply resonate with the audience. Emma joined The Event Company in 2013, armed with extensive sales, senior client management and business development expertise. A seasoned sales and business development professional, Emma has built a track record of success with a number of leading financial MNC’s in UK and Singapore, as well as with some dynamic entrepreneurial start-ups. Emma has also contributed as a Board member of the British Chamber of Commerce (2010-2012) and worked as chairperson for various business committees.

Brimming with passion and energy, Emma is most definitely a people person and loves building mutually beneficial, productive business relationships, with a salient value-add.

Smooth operators, business focused, proactive heavyweights, the Sales team is passionate about building new, mutually beneficial Client relationships. With a mission of seeding and building new Client relationships, and with a high emphasis on exceptional Client partnership, Client service and relationships, Sales are the first point of Client contact. Sales are also the end-to-end owners of the new business effort, so they are definitely the deal makers of The Event Company. Joel leads the Sales team, who comprise of 5 very savvy sales professionals.

May Lai
Director, Operations

A seasoned events heavyweight, May has a pedigree of over 17 years international exhibition and event industry expertise. In a class of her own, May has both the know-how and a proven track record of success in all aspects of exceptional event execution, including concept development, logistic planning and execution, managing resources and vendors, P & L responsibility, post-event analysis and international team management.

May is proud to have managed the event needs of premier league Clients which included: Coca-Cola, Bayer, Siemens, Montblanc, Nokia, British Aerospace, Nokia and Motorola both locally, in China and internationally.

Having specialised in the perfect execution of large scale, world class, international event projects such as the Shanghai World Expo (2010) and Beijing Olympics (2008), no event is too big or too small for May’s event expertise.

Kylie Hall
Director, Registration & Database Services

A Singapore Permanent Resident, Kylie is no newcomer to the Singapore event scene. Her 13 years of expertise and experience have provided her the opportunity to work as a venue owner, in an event management company and corporate travel. Since 2005, Kylie has focused on being an event registration specialist, enabled by her varied and extensive industry experience, attention to detail, energy, dedication, and reliability.

Leading a team of dedicated registration personnel, telemarketers and web & app developers, she enjoys the challenges of keeping abreast with new technology and finding new ways to enhance the guest registration experience. At the frontline of every event, Kylie consistently delivers a stellar opening, delighting the guests with the professionalism and class of the registration team

With a mighty 23 years experience working on leading global brands in various global HQ creative marketing leadership roles, Lesley brings with her a wealth of expertise from a wide array of industries including advertising, music, tobacco, drinks and IT. A Singapore Permanent resident, Lesley is driven by a passion for events and has extensive hands-on experience and expertise in creating unique, creative and imaginative events.

Lesley thrives on the challenge of creating exceptional events for Clients through the value-add of creativity and innovative, unique design. Creative, artistic, brimming with fresh and innovative design ideas, the Creative & Design team comprise 7 Artisans who are passionate about delivering design excellence and a creative value-add to every Client event. Highly experienced and proven, our 3 full-time 2D designers and 4 full-time 3D designers benefit from a Design Studio powered with the latest Design technology and creative inspiration. Our team are also experts in creative ideation, concepting, designing, copywriting and styling. The Creative team, once assigned to an event will passionately champion every element of 2D and 3D design end-to-end, determining how the perfect event will look and feel and with creative genuinely enhancing the final event experience with a creative "wow factor".
